Norfolk Coastal Trail Marathon and Half Marathon 2024

The 2024 Norfolk Coastal Marathon will follow the route along a beautiful stretch of the north Norfolk coastline. The Marathon will Start at Holme Next The Sea and the Half Marathon will start at Burnham Overy Staithe. Both races will finish at Morston Quay.

We are pleased to be supporting the work of East Anglia Air Ambulance, £5 of your entry fee will be donated to them, some of their volunteers will be part of the crew on race day. We are also supporting the work of the National Trust who manage Morston Quay, £1 of your entry fee will donated to their work.

Distance: Marathon/Half-Marathon

Suitable for: All abilities

Medals: All finishers will be awarded a bespoke medal

Event Details

Start time: Marathon 9am, Half-Marathon 10.30am

Entry details: Online entry only via Si entries

Results details: We use Gun (electronic) timing, and also may be manually recording your race number at checkpoints/finish for safety reasons. Please ensure your race number is clearly visible to marshals at all times. We will endeavour to check & publish results within 48 hours of the event finish.

Entry cost: Marathon £34 Half-Marathon £30 UKA affiliated (must quote UKA URN on entry), Non-UKA affiliated Marathon £36 Half-Marathon £32

Refunds: You will be entitled to a 60% refund if you are unable to take part, up until 6 weeks before the day of the race

Deferment: Sorry but we do not do deferrals for events as this has a knock-on financial impact.

Transfers: You may transfer to another runner free of charge up to 6 weeks before the date of an event. Please log into Si entries and edit your entry using the substitute option.

Transport: Coach transport will be available from the finish location to the start, BEFORE the event begins (i.e. leave your car at the finish). Must be booked at the same time as entering. Cost £12

Postponement: Should it be necessary to postpone the race due to no fault of Positive Steps Fitness and Wellbeing Ltd, we will reschedule the event to another date in the current year or in the following year. Participants will be given the option to transfer to the rescheduled event or to be given a voucher code of an equivalent value for a future event.

Race numbers: Participants to collect on the day at registration

Cut off: All participants must complete the event by 5pm

Refreshments: Checkpoints with water, squash every 7 miles

First aid: First-aiders will be present at the Start/Finish and along the course. If you develop medical problems, please alert the nearest marshal and prompt assistance will be provided

Friends/family: Supporters are most welcome at our events.

The route follows the coastal trail from Holme to Morston.

Race Rules

Minimum age on race day: (18) Full Marathon; (17) Half Marathon

No person (except a blind runner’s attendant) may accompany a competitor at any point on the course.

All competitors must compete on foot.

The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Cut-off times: All participants must be finished by 5pm.

Mandatory kit - a list will be sent in your final info email. It will simply be the items we consider you will need to keep you safe on the course. You will always need to supply your own cup and please always consider weather conditions on the day when you get packing.
